Availability Strongid Paste is a non-prescription (OTC) product. How this product should be used The content of a single oral syringe is sufficient to treat one 1200 lb horse at the recommended dose rate of 3mg of pyrantel base per lb. Each weight marking on the oral syringe plunger delivers enough paste to treat 300 lb of body weight. For maximum control of parasitism, it is recommended that foals (2 to 8 months of age) be dosed every 4 weeks.
